![]() Void Dwellers could work, but you would really need to acquire a second species to get decent population growth. It's not such a big deal though, since a) your homeworld is guaranteed to have a fair number of all three types of rural district and b) as Lithoids, you'll be colonizing all types of planets anyway.Īs most people have said, Lithoid Necrophage is probably the most "synergistic" combo, as it bypasses the Lithoids' main weakness (they won't be breeding directly, but rather via bio species that you convert into Lithoids later) and builds on one of their strengths (your leaders will have super long lifespans, which means you can hopefully keep some early ones alive all game). ![]() So indeed, it's a good idea to pick a cold climate preference: this is mainly to ensure you get your 1-2 guaranteed habitable worlds as cold, increasing your chances of having a good mining world up and running early on. Similarly, dry planets are biased towards energy and wet planets are biased towards food. ![]() As far as I know, this applies equally to Alpine, Arctic and Tundra. (The only detailed source I could find was this Reddit post from a year ago, but AFAIK it hasn't changed much since: ). Mining Guilds makes life much more comfortable on this score and continues to be good throughout the game, because it adds to *base* job output (to which all the % bonuses then apply).Īs for the planet climate types, cold planets are biased towards mining districts. Miners only make 4 base minerals as opposed to 6 food from farmers, so by default, you need a lot of miners early on just to feed your pops. One basic tip: unless you need two civics to do something special, get Mining Guilds civic. ![]()
